A pair of Chinese blue and white salt cellars. Qianlong

The salt cellars are modelled as a octogonal container raised on a high pedestal above three scrolling feet. It is decorated in different shades of underglaze cobalt blue, the body with a continuous landscape scene containing peonies and rocks. The pedestal and feet have been moulded with grooves to make swirling line patterns and have been painted blue, with the depressions in a much darker colour.
