A Chinese blue and white dish decorated with a peacock. Yongzheng period.
Decorated in underglaze blue, with honey-brown edge, flowers on the rim, cell-diaper band at the well, and a central scene of pheasant perched on rockwork amongst flowers.
For an amorial set, also in underglazed blue, with a very similar decoration, see Thomas V. Litzenburg, Jr, Chinese Export Porcelain in the Reeves Center Collection at Washington and Lee University (2003, p. 93, no. 78).
