Of ovoid form, decorated in underglaze blue, the body with floral sprays between wide blue-ground lappet bands, filled with leafy scrollwork. The short neck and a thin ring at the top of the vase is unglazed to accommodate the small, low-domed cover, that is decorated with a central flower.

Decorated in famille verte enamels on the biscuit, standing on three feet and looking to the left, with moveable eyeballs and on an Artemisia leaf-shaped base which symbolized the driving away of evil. Under its left front paw is a moveable yellow ball.
