For a famille rose punch bowl with a hunting scene made for the American market, from the Mottahedeh collection, see David Howard and John Ayers, China for the West, Sotheby Parke Bernet Publications, London 1978, vol I, p 281 – 283, pl 280.
Additonal informations :
These types of foxhunting scenes were popular in the second half of the 18th century, and most likely copied by the Chinese from European hunting prints and were popular both with the English and American markets.
Most of those decorations are found on famille rose punch bowls or tea sets, blue and white coffee pots of this type are unusual.
