A large Chinese famille verte jug and cover. Kangxi period.

The body of pear form standing on a splayed foot encircled by a petal border in green enamels and rouge-de-fer, the sides encircled by a formal borders and a central horizontal floral frieze, the border around the rim repeated on the low domed cover pierced with a hole corresponding to another on the bold loop handle for attachment.
