A Japanese Imari “La Dame au Parasol” plate. Edo Period

The circular dish with wide rim decorated in iron-red, black, green and aubergine enamels and gilt on underglaze blue with the well-known scene after Cornelis Pronk showing a Japanese lady in Kimono attended by her maidservant holding a paper parasol, the revers decorated with seven iron-red insects.

With foliated rim and decorated in underglaze blue with the design with Chinese figures standing beside pine, bamboo and plum on rocky outcrops with a fisherman in a boat on a river, chocolate rim.

A Japanese large imari jar and cover. Edo period.

Oviform vase with short cylindrical neck, decorated in iron red and gilt on underglaze blue, with broad band of plum, chrysanthemum and hydrangea issuing from rockwork, the shoulder with a band of chrysanthemum petals with various geometrical and floral designs, the neck with karakusa, the domed cover similarly decorated, the finial modeled as sacred pearl.
