The dish is decorated on the interior with two Chinese ladies in a landscape. The wide everted rim is decorated with two hares leaping amidst rocks and plants. The base is inscribed with an apocryphal six character Chenghua mark, indication of quality.

This dish belongs to a typology painted with two figures of Chinese ladies, hares, clouds, and always marked with the apocryphal Chenghua mark. This typology had probably inspired the production of Delftware and the blue and white french Faience of Nevers (Atelier des Conrade) during the second half of the 17th century.
