A Chinese famille rose eggshell tea bowl decorated with figures. Qianlong period.

Made in eggshell porcelain and decorated in famille rose enamels and gold, the saucer with camaïeu carmin panels of landscape and foliage vignettes reserved on a scrollwork border, with a central scene of ladies and children, the tea bowl decorated en suite.

A very similar tea bowl and saucer is in collection of the Reeves Center Collection at Washington and Lee University (USA), illustrated by Thomas V. Litzenburg, Jr in Chinese Export Porcelain in the Reeves Center Collection at Washington and Lee University (2003, p. 162, no. 157).

Additonal informations :

This tea bowl probably owe his inspiration to border patterns found circa 1730 by Meissen.
