The watercup and dropper combined in the shape of a lotus leaf and seed-pod, the stem forming a short handle, a small pod the brush rest. The two parts have a communicating water channel masked by a black crab. The cup decorated in underglaze blue, the veins on the blue outside reserved in white, on the inside painted in blue. The dropper with a few touches of underglaze copper red.

This is a nice example of one of those important objects on the scholar’s desk. This piece is complexe in that dropper is combined with a water cup, so that it has to be used as the water has to flow into the dropper first ; after sprinkling, it flows back into the cup.
