Painted in a vibrant underglazed blue and having a central barbed roundel with a dancing boy in a garden before a large vase of flowers, within a cavetto and rim with alternating Buddhist emblems and lotus roundels, all within a diapered border, the rim verso with three floral sprigs.

Legend indicated that the dancing boy motif, often with his hand hidden within his long sleeves, is connected from ancient times, with New Years Eve celebrations and rituals. This motif was also copied by early 18th century British porcelain manufactories.
