A very fine Chinese famille rose “cockerel” plate. Yongzheng period.

Brightly enamelled in the famille rose palette with a cockerel perched on pierced promontory rockwork among flowering branches of peony, surrounded at the well with a sea-green trellis-pattern band reserved with floral vignettes, the rim with four flower sprays.
